From October 31 to November 13, 2026, the Summer Youth Olympic Games will be held for the first time on the African continent in Dakar. Almost simultaneously, we will be hosting the SIRA “Salon de l’Intégration Régionale et Africaine“ craft fair on the island of Gorée from October 23 to November 15, 2026.
The SIRA craft fair will be opened on October 23 by Augustin Senghor, mayor of Gorée, hosting prominent guests from all over the world. Mr. Senghor is also an expert on world sports, having been president of the Senegalese Football Federation for 20 years, and is now a member of the board of the African Football Federation.
The 14 regions of Senegal: Dakar, Diourbel, Fatick, Kaffrine, Kaolack, Kédougou, Kolda, Louga, Matam, Saint Louis, Sédhiou, Tambacouda, Thiès, and Ziguinchor; as well as Senegal's six neighboring countries: the Cape Verde Islands, with which Senegal shares a maritime border, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, and Mauritania will exhibit typical handicrafts from their regions and countries, which will be available for purchase.
